Siroccopteryx was a large, flying reptile (pterosaur) from North Africa, living about 100 million years ago.
It had long, narrow jaws lined with sharp, forward‑pointing teeth perfect for catching fish.
Its wings stretched several meters across, supported by elongated finger bones
and covered with a leathery membrane. A prominent crest on its head may have helped with flight stability.
Siroccopteryx had a lightweight skeleton, making it agile in the air,
and likely soared over coastal lagoons hunting fish.
It represents one of Africa’s best‑known mid‑Cretaceous pterosaurs.
