FOSSIL COPAL and AMBER
Copal is a young tree resin often less than 100,000 years old and found worldwide,
often with insect and plant inclusions.
There are many beliefs about when copal transforms to Amber.
It is generally thought that the volatile components leave the resin over time
and as polymerization proceeds, copal is turned into Amber.
